A miniature masterpiece full of local charm, this one-of-a-kind watercolor by Martin captures a beloved piece of Cherokee County history.
Martin has an eye for the little vignettes and familiar places that make a community special. Each scene is delicately drawn by hand in pen and ink, then brought to life with watercolor. He completes every piece with a handcrafted frame made from old, reclaimed, weathered wood. No two are quite alike—the knots, worn edges, variations in color, and charming imperfections give each its own character.
This tiny painting depicts Owen’s Store, a well-known historic landmark in Cherokee County, Georgia. Measuring a mere 4 1/4" x 6", it feels like a little treasure from an old travel sketchbook.
The watercolor paper is mounted to hardboard and set into its handmade reclaimed-wood frame, measuring approximately 6 1/2" x 7 3/4" overall. A sawtooth hanger on the back makes it ready to display.
A sweet little piece of Cherokee County history, and truly one of a kind.
